As a fashion and interior stylist, our client had a strong vision but needed help with design detailing, materiality, and fixtures. Working with the existing wood detailing of the craftsman home, design elements were set in place with the intention to modernize — as well as juxtapose — materiality into the space. Granite counters, dark green cabinetry, and steel detailing allow the kitchen to function as the central focus of the home. Cold-rolled steel was used to fabricate the hood surround, finish off the millwork, and as an integrated planter which elegantly drops to become shelf supports for the wall across the room.
